"UTILYON 3 wave "
With its wide 29-inch wheels, the UTILYON sets the stage for a smooth ride. This is because the approach angles over smaller obstacles, such as lowered curbs or potholes, are shallower, ensuring a high level of comfort and a smoother ride.
Payload and luggage capacity also play a particularly important role with the UTILYON. With a gross vehicle weight rating of 180 kg for the Fahrer, bike, and luggage, it offers significantly more flexibility for individual mobility. That’s why there’s more than just the option of attaching panniers to the stylish Carrier. Thanks to the optional front Carrier, smaller items can also be stowed within the rider’s field of vision, directly under the Handlebars.
To ensure that the total weight of up to 180 kg can be handled with ease, the “UTILYON 3” features the Performance CX engine from the Bosch Smart System, which draws its power from the PowerTube 750. This isn’t just enough for longer distances. Thanks to the continuously variable Enviolo Heavy Duty Internal Gear Hub and the virtually maintenance-free Gates CDX Straps, comfort is exceptionally high.
So who is the “UTILYON 3” designed for? We developed this model for anyone looking for a versatile design that can handle a wide range of needs. This includes multi-day cycling trips with the necessary luggage. But it’s also ideal for running small errands at the supermarket. These items can then be stowed in various places—provided you have the appropriate bags and baskets.
The Contact Urban from Continental offers excellent grip; it’s even available in the 60-622 size for the UTILYON and gives the bike a harmonious overall look. The mandatory Reflective Stripes ensure adequate passive safety. The 120-lux LED lighting provides active illumination of the route. At the rear, the light is not only integrated into the Fender but, thanks to a motion sensor, offers an additional lighting function that essentially acts as a brake light when speed is reduced abruptly. Technically, however, it is a stop light. Either way, we definitely didn’t want to do without this useful safety feature on the UTILYON.
Speaking of speed reduction: The UTILYON is brought to a stop by hydraulic disc brakes in the 203/180 mm size. The brake rotors, which are significantly thicker in cross-section, ensure long-lasting durability and thus fit perfectly with the UTILYON concept.
The “UTILYON 3” is available as a dynamically designed model with a top tube or as a stylish mono-frame version. As with all new VICTORIA models, the battery integrated into the down tube can be removed from the top, eliminating the need to support it as would be required when removing it from the bottom. However, given the high capacity and the resulting weight of the battery, we recommend charging it while it’s mounted on the UTILYON instead, as it’s simply more convenient.
